Darren’s love of all things natural began at a young age. He received his first bird book at the age of eight, and never looked back. As a young birdwatcher, he never left the house without his trusty bird book, always looking for any new and exciting species. The natural progression resulted in qualifying and working as a safari guide at some of the most prestigious lodges in South Africa. It was here that he started finding his love for photography, and daily exposure to some incredible wildlife areas allowed him to refine his skills on the camera. This was the first 13 years of his journey.

Since leaving the lodges and working full time as a photographic safari guide, he has travelled and gained exposure to places such as Uganda and Kenya. This meant 2 things, refinement, and growth, driven by the furnace of different experiences. This growth resulted in 2 Awards.. Runner up in the Mammal behaviour category for the nature photography awards and a highly honored award from Nature’s best Photography.

It’s the journey that excites him the most and what’s exciting is that the journey always continues….
